The Hon’ble President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, has graciously consented to attend the inaugural session as the Chief Guest.

At the press conference, Minister for Science and Technology Fakir Mahbub Anam, MP, said that the global economy is undergoing a transformation driven by Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the era of the ongoing Fourth Industrial Revolution. In light of this reality, the central theme of this year’s summit has been set as “AI-fication for Tomorrow’s Economy.” The Minister stated that the summit’s core vision is built on the seamless integration of three key elements: People, Business, and Intelligence. He expressed hope that this strong joint initiative of the Ministry of Science and Technology and Dhaka Chamber would play a groundbreaking role in promoting the responsible adoption of AI technologies across the country’s industrial and commercial sectors and in building a sustainable AI ecosystem.

DCCI President Taskeen Ahmed said that AI is transforming business and trade, industrial production, financial services, communications, and various other sectors in the current era of information technology. Emphasizing that the adoption of AI technology is essential to remain competitive in the global economy, Dhaka Chamber President also underscored the need for effective policy formulation and support, modernization of educational curricula, and the development of necessary infrastructure to enhance the country’s capabilities. He stated that, recognizing the importance of the issue, DCCI and the Ministry of Science and Technology had jointly taken the initiative to organize this first-of-its-kind event in Bangladesh. The summit will feature an inaugural session, three thematic sessions, and a B2B matchmaking session. An exhibition titled ‘AI Business Expo’ will also be organized, where entrepreneurs will showcase their products and services through 150 stalls featuring local and international AI-based companies. In addition, young innovators and entrepreneurs from 20 public and private universities across the country will have the opportunity to showcase their innovations and products. Taskeen Ahmed noted that the summit would create opportunities for young innovators, local entrepreneurs, and foreign businesses to exchange business ideas and expand trade.

Ministry of Science and Technology Secretary Md. Anwar Hossain said that the Ministry’s activities are being advanced based on four key pillars. These include promoting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education from the primary to university levels; translating research findings and academic papers into market-ready products and solutions rather than limiting them to theoretical knowledge; establishing strong linkages between researchers, investors, and markets; and pursuing dedicated initiatives in AI, semiconductors, biotechnology, nanotechnology, space research, and the blue economy. The Secretary also highlighted the significant potential for establishing biotechnology parks in Bangladesh, given the country’s large pool of talented graduates, to harness their expertise and facilitate the development of new drugs and lifestyle products.

DCCI Secretary General Dr. A.K.M. Asaduzzaman Patwary, along with senior officials of the Ministry of Science and Technology, was also present during the press conference.
